BREAKING NEWS: INEC Declares APC's El- Rufai Winner Of Kaduna Governorship Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and former‎ minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Nasir El-rufai has successfully ended the 16-year rule of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State by defeating incumbent Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero with a landslide victory.
 
In the results released by the state returning officer,  Professor Ja’afaru Makau Kaura, , the APC candidate won in 17 local government areas, while the PDP won only in 6 local government areas of the state.
 
APC polled a total votes of 1,117,635, while the PDP polled a total votes of 485,833.
The APGA scored a total votes of 20,140, while the Labour Party (LP) scored 2,913 votes to come fourth.
 
According to him, the total registered voters in the state stands at 3,357,469; total accredited voters 1,710,935; total valid votes 1,632,993;  total rejected votes 27,116;  while the total votes cast sum up to 1,660,109.
 
The APC won in Soba, Kaura, Sanga, Lere, Kubau, Birnin Gwari, Zaria, Sabon Gari‎, Chikun, Kagarko, Igabi, Kaduna North, Kaduna south, Kudan, Makarfi, Giwa and Ikara local government areas.
The PDP won in Kaura, Zangon Kataf, Jaba, Jema’a, Kajuru and Kachia local government areas.
Meanwhile, the incumbent governor of Kaduna State Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has conceded defeat and has congratulated the APC candidate, Mallam Nasir El-rufai through a phone call as disclosed by Samuel Aruwan, El-rufai’s spokesperson.
