The police spokesman also said that the command had as well arrested 34 armed robbery suspects on Thursday night at Mararaban Akunza in Lafia which included six women.
He said the arrest followed confessions by some of their accomplices earlier arrested who gave useful information that led to the successful raid of their hideout.

“Following the arrest, assorted narcotic drugs some of which include, Parkalin, Tramadol, Indian Hemp were recovered from them,” he said.
He added that a Toyota, Sharon bus, five motorcycles, a Honda Accord saloon car and 26 cutlasses were also recovered from the suspects.

Numan said that out of the 44 other suspects arrested, seven were arrested for rape cases while others for various criminal mischief during the recently- concluded general elections.
The PPRO also said one suspected notorious armed robber was also traced and arrested in Adamawa by men of the command.

He said that the suspect confessed to have killed his victim whose corpse he kept in a 'Ghana-must-go' sack laden with iron and thrown into River Benue in Yola.

Numan explained that his men traced him to Yola, where he confessed to have snatched a new 14-sitter bus with registration number AG928MUB with the deceased victim,
He said the suspect was assisting the police with useful information that would lead to arrest of other criminals in his gang.

The police spokesman said that security was a collective responsibility, and urged members of the public to be conscious of any suspicious movement in view of the prevailing security challenges in the country.
