A tragic fire incident which occurred early this morning and razed down
properties worth millions of Naira, has got the residents of Iyana Ipaja
in lament. At about 1am on Tuesday, a terrible fire outbreak hit Iyana
Ipaja area of Lagos, along Abeokuta expressway, spreading across a wide
area. Till 5am, men of the fire service were yet to arrive the scene to
contain the fire accident. Lots of cars, shops and houses were gutted by
the outbreak.
However, the youths in the community made all effort to put the
situation under control before the Fire Service arrived later from
Maryland area. The fire outbreak was said to have been caused by an
accident involving a petrol tanker which reportedly fell down from the
Iyana Ipaja bridge. More details to come
