In an unfortunate twist of events, Ebola appears to have crept back into Liberia as 2 more cases of the deadly virus have been reported in the country.
The reports follow the death of a 17-year old boy whose corpse was found in the streets in Margibi County.
According to the Liberian Ministry of Information, both of the new cases were in Nedowein, the same village where the boy died.
According to BBC, Liberia's authorities quarantined the area after the teenager's death and said his funeral was carried out safely.
Also health official Cestus Tarpeh
said that the pair had been in physical contact with the 17 year old
before his death, adding that a herbalist who had treated the boy had
evaded the authorities and was on the run.
It however remains unclear how the boy was infected.
News of Ebola re-entering Liberia is coming over 7 weeks after the country was declared Ebola free by World Health Organisation (WHO).
Over
11,000 people have died of the deadly Ebola virus since December 2013,
with the vast majority coming from Liberia followed by Guinea and Sierra Leone.
