The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and Governor Olusegun Mimiko
of Ondo State are among eminent Nigerians to receive Integrity Award at
the third Annual Dinner and Integrity Award Nite scheduled to hold in
July 31st, at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos. The event which is organized
annually by Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists (NACJ) is
designed to encourage integrity and discourage corruption among
Nigerians.
The Award will be given in various categories to individuals and corporate bodies for having displayed sense of integrity and patriotism in their place of duties. In the category of governance, Mimiko will receive Integrity Award for Good Governance. For professionalism, Ray Ekpu, the famous Journalist, and Ladi Balogun, the Managing Director of First City Monument Bank Plc, are to receive Professional Integrity Award.
For corporate bodies, Dr. Bembo Victor, Managing Director of Mediplan Health Care Ltd, Barrister Allen Onyema, Chairman Air Peace, and Mr. Babatunde Wilkey, Managing Director of BW – Meat Embassy will be honoured with Integrity Award for Quality Services.
Also, there will be Award for Integrity in Politics which will go to Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, Senator Olakunle Oluwole and Honourable Jumoke Akindele, Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly. For spiritual leadership, Rev Tony Akinyemi of Shepherd’s Flock International Church will be honoured with Integrity Award for Spiritual Leadership.
For traditional leadership category, HRM Oba Afolabi Adeyemi Joachim, Owa of Ijurin Land and Oba Obateru Akinrutan of Olugbo of Ugbo Land will both receive integrity in leadership award. A distinguished award for woman of honour and patriotism will go to Chief Mrs. Olukemi Mimiko.
The side attraction for the night will be the Posthumous Award for late Dr. Stella Ameyo Adedevoh for her sterling demonstration of patriotism and Professional Integrity during the Ebola Virus Saga.
The event is expected to hold under the distinguished chairmanship of Chairman, Elizade Motors, Chief Machael Ade Ojo, while Assistant Inspector General of police, AIG, Tunde Ogunsakin will grace the occasion as special guest of honor being the recipient of integrity man of the year Award for 2013 and 2014.
A statement from Charles Okhai, Secretary General of NACJ said: “The awards are strictly based on strong character of Integrity because no nation can achieve a meaningful development if her leaders are not Integrity conscious. In other words, we are committed to promoting Integrity because basically, the prosperity of any nation is intrinsically linked to the level of integrity of her leaders.
