Police Arrest Wife For Refusing To Wash Husband’s Clothes

Women’s rights advocates have criticized a police department in Mexico, for arresting a woman because she refused to wash her husband’s clothes.

According to Worldwideweirdnews, Tampico police arrested 21-year-old Dulce Requena Garcia, and she was locked up in a police station. She was given a fine of $32, but because she had no money, she was locked up for 12 hours.

The incident began when her husband, Edgar Ivan Perez Alvarado, came home from work and wanted to change into clean clothes to go out with friends. His wife refused to wash his laundry, accusing him of cheating on her with another woman.

Alvarado called the police, telling them that his wife is spending too much time watching television and not enough time doing housework. Police officers who responded to the scene, arrested the woman.
