The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced the registration of 5 new political parties in Nigeria.

INEC's spokesperson, Adedeji Soyebi, in a statement issued on Wednesday said that the registration of the new parties brought the total number of political parties in Nigeria to 45.
The newly registered parties are:
1. Young Progressive Party (YPP)
2. Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA)
3. New Generation Party of Nigeria (NGP)
4. All Democratic Peoples Movement (ADPM)
5. Action Democratic Party (ADP)
