The sexual assault case Bill Cosby
is battling has been declared a mistrial by the judge for the second
time, as the jury failed to reach a unanimous decision on the verdict.
The jurors first told the judge, Steven O’Neill they were deadlocked on Thursday after 30 hours of deliberations that started Monday.
O’Neill at the time gave them the
standard instruction to continue deliberating without compromising any
of their individual beliefs.
In the past few years, 60 women have
accused Cosby of sexual misconduct but the statute of limitations had
expired in most of those cases.
That made 44-year-old Andrea Constand‘s claim the only one that led to criminal charges.
Constand, a former director of
operations for Temple University, accuses Cosby of molesting her at his
home near Philadelphia in 2004 when she was incapacitated from three
pills that he gave her.
Prosecutors have, however, announced they will retry the case against Cosby.
