Nigerian broadcaster, Emma Ugolee writes on the death of Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park who commited suicide yesterday at the age of 41.

According to Emma,  'the most publicized aspects of the lives of many are displayed with the intent to deceive. Do not be wooed my dear. Nobody is Okay'.

Read his full piece below...

1) Professional success can be completely unconnected to fulfilment: The certificates, Award Plaques on the shelves, Medals in the glass show case, Number 1 spots on the charts, Sold out tours, Number of promotions at work, Top at the business can create fleeting satisfaction not happiness. You have to be living for that deeper course which is often not for material compensation nor social or corporate  recognition.

2) Popular people are not necessarily happy people: Illusion, illusion, illusion of the highest existence it is to believe that man or woman admired for the inability to walk the streets without being attended to is automatically a man to admire for how happy he/she must be. To the contrary, the superficial and unreal components of their world breeds emptiness daily. Its a painful burden to carry and only a few know where the place called balance is. Others are miserable. Sorry.

3) Heroism is best measured by the ability to stop your life from falling apart when low moments come. Holding the pieces together and being able to carry on is what makes you Mr or Miss fix it. A truly strong individual. The extra notch of yet being able to be there for others despite your issues now begins to advance you to being super human. Beat your chest every day for being able to  lock your mind up from driving  you crazy. It is a massive feat.

4) People are great actors. The most publicized aspects of the lives of many are displayed with the intent to deceive. Do not be wooed my dear. NOBODY IS OKAY.
These are terrible times and the demons people fight daily are ferocious. The scars they leave on them are neatly hidden under those fancy outfits. Many would rather keep up impressions and dwell in silent agony  than seek your help. So please never dismiss any as doing just fine. Unmask the smile without being a busy body when you can and help. Also while you do not go about like you alone have issues, never be to ashamed to seek help.

Good night Chester Bennington of Linking Park........ Emma Ugolee
