Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has disowned any
portal been spread around social media that the scheme has launched a
portal to pay Ex Corps members the sum of 75,000 naira.
In a statement signed by the management of the scheme on Saturday, the blogs which are 'Safe Job' and 'Vanguard News' cited a purported passage of bill on payment of stipends to ex-Corps members by the Senate, and published information claiming that the NYSC Director-General had launched a portal for the payment of the said stipends.
The statement also stated a fake Facebook account and NYSC Online platform on the issue hence the management of the scheme stated that the information was not only false, but also misleading and should be disregarded.
The statement informed stakeholders that the so-called "NYSC Online" was not the official Facebook page of the National Youth Service Corps.
