Pandemonium broke out in Zaria, Kaduna state this evening as police officers and Shia members clashed. According to multiple sources, the Shia members who have been outlawed in the state, were holding what they call the "Ashura" when some police officers stormed the gathering to stop them.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai banned the religious group from holding any activity in the state after the clash they had with the Nigerian Army in 2015. See photos and videos from today's incident below
