Security operatives attached to the Lagos State Police Command have
arrested and charged to court, a 20-year-old suspect, Tosin Kayode, for
allegedly defiled a minor in Agege, Lagos Mainland.
InsideMainland learnt that the suspect who resides along Railway Line, Agege, a suburb of Lagos Mainland was charged before the Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for defilement.
The prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, told the court that the offence was committed on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Railway Line, Agege.
Ogu said that the accused defiled a five-year-old daughter of one of the women who usually begged for alms in Agege.
“The accused was caught by a passer-by while defiling the child and he raised an alarm, thereafter, the accused was apprehended,” the prosecutor said.
In his defense, the accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The chief magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni granted the accused to a bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was however adjourned until January 15, 2018, for mention.
