There was panic on Monday night around Orile area of Coker Aguda Local Council Development Area of Lagos State as a three-storey building collapsed.

Officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency have taken over the building with the aim of conducting a test to ascertain the cause of the collapse of the building.

Tribune Online gathered that the  building was until the incident being used as a warehouse for building material suppliers in the area.

Millions of naira worth of building materials such as ceramics and tiles, plumbing materials, iron and others were reportedly buried under the rubble of the collapsed building.

 A resident of the area  who simply identified himself as Gbenga said that “there were no workers in the bulding at that time because they have closed for the day when the building collapsed."

The resident added that “the building collapsed in the night.  We just heard a loud noise.  I don’t even know what happened, it was later that people told me that it was that building that collapsed. I was close to the house."

The spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), South West, Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the collapse of the building to the Tribune Online and added that no casualty was recorded.

He also added that the state government officials had arrived at the site of the building to test the building and also to ascertain the cause of the collapse of the building.
